About Cynthia - Chief Happiness Officer
Cynthia has made a career of helping people connect with who/what they need to move forward. In plain speak, she loves to share with, collaborate with and connect people with the knowledge, resources, and/or other humans to help them reach their goals.
She ran a successful wedding and event planning business for ten years before deciding to recommit her skills and education in operations and marketing to help other entrepreneurs scale their businesses. This is how she became a part of Mary-Ann's Makery - helping Mary-Ann navigate digital marketing and designing her booths for craft shows.
Cynthia started painting with acrylic paint as a young newlywed preparing for the birth of her first child. She took tole painting lessons at Wendy's Way as a way of spending time with her girlfriends as they were all at the beginning of their careers and lives as adults.
20 years later, she began teaching for Paint Nite over Zoom during COVID (all her planned weddings and events had to be postponed), then joined Mary-Ann as an instructor in 2023.
Her students love her quick jokes, infectious laugh, and intuitive teaching style that makes painting easy for everyone.
Cynthia says...
"Some of my earliest memories are of creating. Give me some colouring tools and paper and I was the happiest little girl. I spent hours drawing, painting, colouring, cutting, gluing...
I was a dancer as a teenager, and after I stopped, I felt something was missing. It took the birth of my son and an interest in preserving those early days memories that led me to scrapbooking - and Mary-Ann. It was through getting back into those supplies, papers, inks, and more that I discovered what had been missing: A creative outlet. Somewhere I could play and express and relax. Not gonna lie, scrapbooking and crafting are an excellent outlet for my stationery, sticker, and pen addiction!
I am so excited to have a new opportunity to share my love of creating and getting messy with our clients and guests :) "
Cynthia is also wife to Marc, proud momma of Caleb and Vada-Leigh, and lucky fur momma to Princess, Rory, and Reese.
